At Palmetto Bay Speech Therapy, we understand that children learn best through play — so all of our speech therapy sessions are child-led and packed with fun! Each session is personalized to meet your child’s needs and interests, and families are always encouraged to participate. Early Language Delays (Late Talkers)
At Palmetto Bay Speech Therapy, we take a child-led, family-centered approach to working with young kids who are delayed in their communication. During our sessions, you will see us playing, singing, dancing, and having fun! Parents will be coached on how to use play routines or everyday activities around the house as opportunities for children to learn and practice early communication skills such as imitating, pointing, taking turns, and more!

Language Therapy
If your child seems to have difficulty answering questions, struggles to follow directions, or has trouble explaining things or telling stories, they may benefit from language therapy.

For older children, language therapy also focuses on reading and writing skills as well as helping them follow classroom instructions and learning how to ask for help when they don’t understand something.

Parent Coaching
Parent coaching is a key component of all of our therapy sessions at Palmetto Bay Speech Therapy, but we also offer parent coaching as a stand-alone service. Parent coaching sessions provide an opportunity to discuss your child's current stages of language development and any related concerns. These sessions allow us focused time to answer questions and provide tips specific to your child. We know families have busy schedules, that's why our parent coaching services are easily accessible from the comfort of your own home! We can travel to you or meet with you virtually.
Meet Your Speech Therapist
Nicole Kraftsow, M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist
Nicole is a kind-hearted, fun-loving speech therapist with over 20 years of experience providing therapy to kids of all ages.
She has extensive training and expertise working with language delays in young children (late talkers), language and speech deficits related to Autism Spectrum Disorder, play skills, and social communication. Nicole’s passion is providing fun and engaging speech and language therapy for children using a child-led, play-based approach.
After working in a variety of settings as an SLP, Nicole is excited to explore a new chapter in her career. She founded Palmetto Bay Speech Therapy in order to provide high-quality, individualized services in a family-centered environment. Her therapy sessions place an emphasis on family involvement because she believes in the importance of empowering parents to connect with their children and create authentic communication opportunities and learning.
When Nicole isn't working, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, Peloton cycling, listening to 70s Disco Music, and watching reality television. She also LOVES plants and has a major sweet tooth!
Let's Get Started!
STEP ONE
Contact Palmetto Bay Speech Therapy at (786) 345-7022 for a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. We will get some background information about your child, discuss your concerns, and answer any questions you may have.
STEP TWO
Participate in an evaluation. We will learn about your child's development, communication strengths, and areas of need through parent interview, observations, play interactions, and informal or formal testing. The evaluation results will guide our therapy goals and planning.
STEP THREE
Begin speech therapy! Session length and frequency will vary for each child. In the South Miami-Dade area, we provide convenient therapy services in your own home or your child’s preschool/daycare. We also offer online therapy to families located anywhere in the state of Florida!
Speech Therapy is offered in person throughout the South Miami-Dade area. We meet with your child in your home, at your child's daycare or preschool, or at another convenient community location.
Teletherapy is available to families anywhere in the state of Florida.
